Short form code of conduct
At Timescale, Inc. d/b/a Tiger Data ("Tiger Data"), we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and harassment-free space and experience for everyone, regardless of the level of experience, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion (or lack thereof), socioeconomic status, neurodiversity, mental health, nationality, or other identity markers. Our Code of Conduct exists because of that dedication, and we do not tolerate harassment in any form. Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior in this project may be reported by contacting the Tiger Data Conduct Team (conduct@tigerdata.com).Long form code of conduct
This Code of Conduct governs our public code and documentation repositories, community Slack workspace, community Discourse workspace, and our in-person and virtual event presence.As contributors and maintainers, and in the interest of fostering an open and welcoming community, we pledge to respect all people who contribute through attendance, posting messages, reporting issues, posting feature requests, updating documentation, submitting pull requests or patches, and other activities.We are committed to making participation in this project, in our community Slack and Discourse workspaces, and at our events a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of level of experience, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion (or lack therof), socioeconomic status, neurodiversity, mental health, nationality, or other identity markers.We foster an environment for mutual learning, exchange of ideas, and continuous improvement. Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment for our community include:- Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
- Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
- Using welcoming and inclusive language
- Exercising consideration and respect in your speech and actions
- Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
- Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience
- Attempting collaboration before conflict
- Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall community
- The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Personal attacks
- Trolling or insulting/derogatory comments
- Public or private harassment
- Publishing others' private information, such as physical or electronic addresses, without explicit permission
- Other unethical or unprofessional conduct.
Enforcement & Reporting
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior in this project may be reported by contacting the Tiger Data Conduct Team (conduct@tigerdata.com). All reports will be treated with discretion, respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident, and reviewed/investigated promptly and fairly.In your report, please include your name, description of the incident (including the date), and if it was a single instance or observed multiple times.Enforcement Guidelines. Project maintainers and organizers will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:
1. Correction. Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional or unwelcome in the community.Consequence: In the case of GitHub, Slack, Discourse, and online events with chat functionality, project maintainers, workspace administrators, moderators, and/or event organizers will reply to the issue, post, or other thread, providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. Depending on the situation, this may also include a private, written warning.
2. Warning. Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, for a specified period of time. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces as well as external channels like social media. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.
3. Temporary Ban. Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period of time. No public or private interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, is allowed during this period. Violating these terms may lead to a permanent ban.
4. Permanent Ban. Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement of classes of individuals.Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
